West Norfolk Deaf Association (WNDA) is a local charity providing specialist support and practical assistance to Deaf people and those with acquired hearing difficulties in West Norfolk.

Operating across our two sites as well as in the community and at residential homes, we provide a whole range of comprehensive services for people of all ages and all levels of hearing loss, all designed to help our community live independent, fulfilled lives.

How you can help

Hearing Loss research and services are critically underfunded, and as such we rely heavily on the generosity and kindness of our supporters.

There are many ways you can help us serve our community, from fundraising activities to volunteering. All support, in any form, is always greatly appreciated and goes a long way to ensuring we can provide our invaluable services to those most in need.

*COMING SOON* FREE 6-week Family BSL Course

A FREE 6-week course that is open to all family members and carers of D/deaf children. Learn about a total communication approach to language - Improve communication within the family, increase well-being and explore the rich Deaf culture & history. Kindly funded by Norfolk Community Foundation and KLWN Borough Council

BSL in schools- An Introduction

BSL will be available as a GCSE Option from 2025. In preparation for the introduction of BSL to the curriculum, WNDA is offering a series of workshops for schools, and parents supporting the creation of inclusive communication environments, which will enable mainstream primary and secondary school learners to develop an understanding and appreciation of the language, whilst enhancing communication for children and young people with ALD, hearing and speech difficulties, and concentration issues

The UK's first dedicated Deaf swimming school is here! Ran by team GB member and Deaf advocate Oli Kenny, this swim school has been especially tailored to suit Deaf children of all abilities, to help them gain confidence in the water and take them to competitive levels. Spaces are limited so get in touch to book a place!
