Equipment Clinic
Assistive Equipment can often help to improve the quality of life for hearing impaired and deaf people. To identify the best equipment for you, The West Norfolk Deaf Association has teamed up with the Technical Resource Officers employed by Norfolk Social Services to provide a drop-in service for people with a hearing impairment in West Norfolk.
On the 2nd Wednesday of each month
from 1:30pm - 4:30pm
The Deaf Centre
Railway Rd
King’s Lynn
How will my needs be assessed?
Your needs will be assessed by a Technical Officer who comes to the Centre for the session. They will be able to identify, with you, the type of equipment that you need and following a short assessment, equipment can be issued on a permanent loan basis. The equipment available can help with a variety of situations like:
Hearing the phone ring
Hearing the doorbell
Listening to the TV or Radio
Communicating with others
Will I have to pay?
No charge is made for the equipment you receive from Norfolk Social Services. There are no means tests.
The equipment is given on a permanent loan basis for as long as you need it.
What if I can’t get to the Centre?
If you can’t get into the centre the Technical Officers can visit you in your home. This can be arranged through the Customer Services Centre. Their number is given below. (There may be a delay for home visits).
