WNDA Deaf Community Support Service provides support for Deaf people and BSL users in West Norfolk.

This service provides help & guidance in life areas such as:

  • Booking interpreter services

  • Understanding correspondence

  • Work & employment concerns

  • Help with living independently

  • And much more...

As well as offering practical assistance & advice, we also run social groups & activities specifically for BSL users of all ages, providing companionship and support to all Deaf people and those with acquired hearing loss.

Deaf Coffee Morning Group logo

Deaf Support also provides companionship through the Deaf Coffee Morning Group, which meets weekly every Tuesday between 10am - 12:30pm at The Deaf Centre.

A friendly, social group specifically for BSL users, with a jam-packed schedule of fun activities & refreshments, come along to meet with friends in a welcoming, inclusive space.

Macmillan Support for Deaf poster

Macmillan and Self Help UK are launching a new service to support Deaf people with cancer.

Providing one-on-one support, both practical and emotional, in BSL. Also providing access to peer support groups and advocacy support.

This service is available to those living with cancer, and also family members supporting a Deaf person with cancer.

DEAF Connexions BSL interpreter services are closing

As of 30th June 2022 Deaf Connexions will no longer be providing BSL interpreter services. Instead any interpreter services will need to be booked via the following organisations:

Language Empire - GP, Dentist or Optician appointments

Intran - Hospital & health services, Mental health services, County Council & social care, Borough & District councils
